BACH | St. Matthew’s Passion in Hong Kong

The State Choir LATVIJA is visiting Hong Kong to perform the St. Matthew’s Passion by J.S.Bach under the guidance of the outstanding conductor Jaap van Zweden, Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

The legendary oratory will be performed at the Hong Kong Culture Centre on February 3 and 4, 2023 together with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra,Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, Hong Kong Children’s Choir and soloists – Nicolas Phan, tenor; Davone Tines, bass-baritone; Amanda Forsythe, soprano; Tamara Mumford, mezzo-soprano; Paul Appley, tenor; Apollo Wong, bass-baritone.

The State Choir LATVIJA has already collaborated with Jaap van Zweden in a production of Richard Wagener’s Parsifal in 2010 in the Concertgebouw, as well as recording it with The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and The Netherlands Radio Choir, as well as in 2018 performing Wagner’s Twilight of the Gods in Hong Kong.
