Dedicated to the memory of the Latvian families deported in 1941, the annual concert held on 14 June brings together Orchestra RĪGA and State Choir LATVIJA in the programme “The Crimson Sun Rises”. The concert programme features music by outstanding Latvian composers, united by themes of human destiny and the passage of time, unfolding from meditative, luminous and flowing soundscapes towards emotionally and spiritually charged expression.

The concert “The Crimson Sun Rises” will take place on Sunday, 14 June 2026, the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Communist Genocide, at 7.00 pm in St. John’s Church.

All residents of Riga and visitors to the city are invited to attend the concert free of charge by obtaining invitations in advance. Invitations will be available from 10.00 am on 8 June at Biļešu paradīze box offices and online.

The concert is supported by Riga City Municipality.
