26th International Sacred Music Festival
The State Choir LATVIJA and its Artistic Director Māris Sirmais invite audiences in the second half of August to the 26th International Sacred Music Festival, the most significant and tradition-rich sacred music event of the year. Over the Festival’s four concerts this year, audiences will experience a meeting with the energetically powerful Latvian choral conductor Krista Audere; we will honour the memory of Stirniene’s Bishop Boļeslavs Sloskāns by welcoming Lithuania’s State Choir VILNIUS; a significantly large number of musicians will gather to perform Hector Berlioz’s Requiem, a piece which is performed extremely rarely in Latvia; and the Festival will close with a concert of new works which will also mark the 100th birthday of György Ligeti.
The Festival’s concerts will take place in Riga and Stirniene from the 18th to the 31st August.
Tickets for festival concerts are available at all Biļešu Paradīze box offices and online at https://www.bilesuparadize.lv/lv/organizer/141
