Winter voting of Kilograms of Culture 2025

On Wednesday, January 14, the winter voting for Latvian Public Media’s annual culture award “Kilograms of Culture 2025” began. Voting will be open until January 25 at 11:59 PM on the public media portal LSM.lv.

The winter voting includes several events in which the State Choir “Latvija” plays a significant role.

In the category MUSIC

The closing concert of the 28th International Sacred Music Festival, “Buddha Passion,” held on September 5 at the Riga Congress Hall.
The performance featured the State Choir “Latvija,” the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Riga Cathedral Boys’ Choir, conducted by Māris Sirmais.
Soloists: Viktorija Majore, Ieva Parša, Jolanta Strikaite, Mārtiņš Zvīgulis, Hasibagen, and Yiran Jia.
Concert organizer: State Academic Choir “Latvija.”

The anniversary celebration concert of the Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber” – Arnold Schoenberg’s oratorio “Gurre-Lieder,” performed on November 7 and 8 at the Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber.”
The oratorio was performed by the State Choir “Latvija,” the Riga Project Choir, the Estonian National Male Choir, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Modestas Pitrenas.

In the category SURPRISE

The multimedia light exhibition “Interlude” at the Riga Reformed Church, opened on November 30 with the participation of the State Choir “Latvija” and the composer, performing the exhibition’s soundtrack — Kaspars Zemītis’s Mass “Sanctus. The Return.”
