State Choir LATVIJA nominated for the Latvian Grand Music Award 2023

On January 10th in press conference the jury of The Grand Music Award announced nominees for this year.

In the category CONCERT OF THE YEAR, the performance of Hector Berlioz’s Requiem on August 26 in Riga Cathedral was nominated. The monumental masterpiece was performed by State Choir LATVIJA, Orchestra RĪGA, Latvian National Symphony orchestra, tenor Andrew Staples and conductor Māris Sirmais within the 26th International Sacred Music festival.

Congratulations to all nominees and Lifetime Achievement Award recipients!

The Great Music Award ceremony will take place on March 12th at 7:00 PM in the Latvian National Opera. The event will be covered by Latvia’s Television Channel 1 and Latvian Radio 3 ‘Klasika’. For more information, visit www.muzikasbalva.lv.
