Imants Kalniņš Oratorio The Poet and the Mermaid

Imants Kalniņš and Imants Ziedonis’ oratorio is a slightly beautiful, slightly rough, sometimes psychedelic and sometimes true story about the edge of a river where the path of ants ends and the path of fish begins. There we find the Poet and his Mermaid who cannot be called or sent a letter. To balance this out we present César Franck’s major and monolithic Symphony as a tapestry featuring a unicorn in a storm.
