Ēriks Ešenvalds Volcano Symphony (world premiere)

After the successful production of Northern Lights, dedicated to aurora borealis, Ešenvalds continues his exploration of nature, moving on to volcanoes. First, you will hear Ešenvalds’s choral songs and the composer’s own commentary on his expeditions, where he explored volcanic mythology and interviewed people living in close proximity to volcanoes. Next, you will hear the new work itself, illustrated with a striking video by experienced Roberts Rubīns who is well attuned to music.
