State Choir LATVIJA Begins Collaboration with Conductor Gianandrea Noseda in Spain
The State Choir LATVIJA has begun a concert tour in Spain, joining the Orquestra de Cadaqués and the outstanding conductor Gianandrea Noseda in three performances of Beethoveen’s Missa Solemnis.
The first concert of the tour will take place on December 10th at 8 p.m. in the Mozart Hall of the Auditorio de Zaragoza – renowned for its excellent acoustics. On December 11th at 8 p.m., the programme will be repeated in Barcona at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The concert your will conclude on December 12th at 7:30 p.m. at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid. The concert programme also includes Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Minor, where the orchestra will be joined by the exceptional Swedish clarinetist Martin Fröst. Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis will feature solo performances from German soprano Ricarda Merbeth, Russian mezzo-soprano Olesya Petrova, Catalan tenor Josep Bros, and American bass Steven Humes. The choir will be performing for the first time with maestro Noseda, who took part this year in the inaugural Rīga Jūrmala Music Festival together with the London Symphony Orchestra.
