With Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, the opening concert of the Berlioz Festival presents a gigantic staged cantata for solo singers, multiple choirs, and large orchestra. In the historic setting of the Carmelite Convent of Beauvoir-en-Royans, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and State Choir LATVIJA, under the direction of the adventurous Daniel Kawka, promise a spectacular display of vocal and instrumental drama.
